Paris, France.November 15, 2007..Trains at Chatelet were infrequent as commuters pack platforms and rush hour trains to head home. Security keeps people from entering the platforms in an attempt to control dangerous overcrowding. French unions continue an open-ended strike in public transport (SNCF, RATP, ...), yet most workers at the EDF electricity and GDF gas utilities returned to work after taking action the previous day, in a major test for President Nicolas Sarkozy's reform plans. They are protesting against the scrapping of pension privileges that allow some public employees to retire as early as age 50...
