Known as the world's automotive center Detroit was once the home of 1.85 million people in the 1950's. It now houses 917,000 and for this reason it is said that there are now 80,000 abandoned buildings within the city.  <br />

A street near the city center with nothing but closed businesses and factories in the shadow of the GM Corporate Headquarters, home of the company that had a government $13.4 billion bailout in December of 2008.
