Yuzhniy, Odessa region, Ukraine.August 24, 2005 ..The Odessa-Brody pipeline port station, Marine Oil Terminal ?Pivdennyy?, loads ninety thousand tons of oil on to a ship heading to Turkey. This is where Caspian oil is planned to transit into Europe. Currently the oil is flowing in the opposite direction through the pipeline from Russia-Brody-Odessa then by ship to Europe...The Ukrainian pipeline is waiting for European clients to modify their refineries to accept Caspian oil as it is different from Russian oil. The line will make Ukraine far less dependent on Russian for oil and Russia sees it as a line that will break its' monopoly on oil to Europe. The oil is planned travel from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and then by ship to Odessa and then by this pipeline into Europe.........
