After a day of extreme violence Russian troops and tanks surround the Russia Parliament building.

The preceding day saw Russian tanks and troops fire directly into the face of the building to dislodge hundreds of well armed anti-Yeltsin demonstrators held up inside. The demonstrators were either killed or arrested by the military.
