Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, Arizona
May 2, 2008
US Border Patrol Agents inspect a mountain rig for evidence of possible Mexican spotters that work for the smugglers. The rig over looks the plains of the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge. Most illegal Mexican drug runners use these spotters to help them travel through and detect the Border Patrol as they move their goods thought the desert.
Since US contractors have placed vehicle barrier along the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge on the US/Mexican border illegal crossings have been cut substantially. Many illegal crossings have been pushed eastward to the Tucson sector.
