One of the main residential districts of Moscow, Kropotkinskaya has been almost entirely demolished and rebuilt by many new and young Russian architects. It is now a highly fashionable district to live with new elite residential compounds. Apartments in this district sell for as high as $80 million US. Much of the older architecture has been lost and heritage groups are fighting the government on this. Security in the district is strict and building by building.
