The Mexican US border fence dives into the sea on a beach. The beach is split in two by the barrier. The US side is only open to the public on the weekends and people come out to talk with Mexicans through the fence.
The Mexican beach is always full of life while the US beach is often deserted. Music, children, food, and vendors cover the beach. Mexicans pass back and forth playfully through the barrier under the watchful eye of a border patrolman not far away.
Signs on the US side warn of the polluted waters that the US says comes from a waste treatment plant on the Mexican side.
