Saint Bernard's Parish, Louisiana.May 27, 2006..Linda and Tony Manalla, who are in their 60s, came to watch their home of 35 years be torn down after it was moved off its foundation by hurricane Katrina. They raised 3 girls in their house and Linda's parents lived just across the street until they died last year a few months before Katrina hit...They have since purchased a home in Slidell. They are joined by their neighbors Reagan Cavignal 7 years old (in white dress), who just made her first communion, and her father as the workers break for lunch...FEMA funded demolition teams work at leveling thousands of homes in St. Bernard's Parish damaged by hurricane Katrina in August of 2005...FEMA is offering to destroy homes for free up until June 30, 2006. About 12 homes are being demolished daily.
