Groups allied with Occupy Wall Street hold a demonstration outside the Kings County Supreme Court as foreclosed homes are auctioned off inside the building. The protester cry out against the city-run foreclosure auctions that are making people homeless every week.
Inside the court room protestors, who had been sitting quietly in the courtroom, broke into song. The singing filled the courtroom and brought the proceedings to a stand still until roughly 15 people were arrested and led off in handcuffs, still singing.
The participants of the event, that began on September 17, are mainly protesting against social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money and lobbyists on government, among other concerns.
